Ometric Expands its Offering of Multivariate Optical Computing™ Technology to Original Equipment Manufacturers

Innovative Technology Now Available for OEMs to Embed Into Existing Instrumentation

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Spectroscopy innovator Ometric™ announced today that the company’s innovative Multivariate Optical Computing™ technology is now available for original equipment manufacturers (OEM) to embed into existing instrumentation for real-time, in-line process control and final product testing of a variety of industries, including mined minerals, chemicals, agriculture, food and beverage, environmental, plastics, and oil and gas.

Previously available as a stand-alone system only, Ometric has now begun to offer its technology for integration into existing equipment and systems.  By replacing traditional band pass filters with Multivariate Optical Elements (MOE), Ometric can help companies grow revenue from new and existing customers by simultaneously providing new solutions and additional applications.

“As we’ve continued to enhance our technology offerings over the years, we’ve received numerous requests from OEMs looking to embed the technology into their existing systems,” said Bob Freese, Chief Technology Officer of Ometric. “We’re pleased to now offer MOE for use in the existing equipment and believe it can greatly benefit instrument suppliers across a variety of industries by improving overall performance and capability of existing instrumentation.”

Ometric’s Multivariate Optical Computing™ leverages the power, accuracy and well proven performance of optical technology by giving it the speed of light through optical computing. The technology retains the best attributes of photometers and spectrometers while at the same time enabling real-time measurement in a way that has never previously been possible.

Ometric’s Easy Fit® process allows for ease of engagement for original equipment manufacturers interested in learning more about how Ometric’s technology can improve their product. Easy Fit® provides a quick evaluation of MOE applicability to the customer’s product.

“Our technology provides a greater level of optimization that can lead to cost savings in many ways, including conservation of ingredients, reduced waste, conserve energy and ensure final product quality,” said Freese.  “We are able to provide real-time measurement that enables a more accurate and comprehensive analysis.”
